“A GOOD KNIGHT’S QUEST” BACKGROUND PLATE
A background plate created for the web series “A GOOD KNIGHT’S QUEST”. This was used behind the actors whose characters were in the ‘Game World’. It’s suppose to convey a stereotypical ‘evil’ location and didn’t have to be incredibly realistic. Numerous separate photo elements were edited and combined to form a single shot.

“THE CREW” SFX SHOT #1
For the second season of the web series “THE CREW”, I created this shot where a group of Space Pirates dock with the ship belonging to the main characters. The director wanted the pirate ship to be quite literally a pirate ship with space technology added to it.

“THE CREW” SFX SHOT #2
Created for the web series “THE CREW”. This shot was used at the beginning of the episode just to remind the viewer where the ship was and to establish that they were still flying in space towards a destination. Ships were rendered in 3DSMax, while the background stars, rotating planets and moon, and final compositing/color correction were done in After Effects.

“THE CREW” SFX SHOT #3
For the end of the first season of the web series “THE CREW” the space ship gets sucked into a blackhole and the fate of the passengers left unknown as a season cliff hanger. After reading the script, the first image that popped into my head was this exact shot. Ship rendered in 3DSMax, black hole, stars, composite and color correcting in After Effects.

“THE CREW” SFX SHOT #4
FFor the first episode of the second season of the web series THE CREW, I created the after math of the cliffhanger I had done previously. For this shot, I had had time to learn and ultimately try out a few new techniques and things I hadn’t perfected for the first season. Many elements, such as camera tracking the background and wide panoramic background elements are present in this shot.

“ABSOLUTE DISASTER” COMPANY LOGO
A logo designed for a company and good friend (creator of the hit webseries TheCrew whom I had worked with on other projects. The shot has extra content that doesn’t usually make it into the logo used for shows, but that was done for that exact reason.

“BACK ALLEYWAY” VFX TEST
A test I did using a half a dozen separate images combined to make a single shot. Each element is as follows: (1) Alleyway walls and floor, (2) Building Across Street [Digitally Extended], (3) Street, (4) Street Lines, (5) Front Sidewalk, (6) Sky, (7) Smoke in street, (8) Smoke from grate, (9) Cars In Road.

“VFX LIGHT RIG REMOVAL
Part of the 48 Hour Film Project 2009, we were editing the project together when we realized that earlier in the day this shot had been filmed with the lighting rig in full view of the camera. It was too late to reshoot the scene, so I had to digitally erase the light rig from the shot. Taking a still frame photograph of the door/wall, I motion tracked the image into the shot and blended it with the original wall/door to cover the issue. The best part about the shot was no one outside of the group had even realized it had been done (which means that I did my job correctly).

RANDOM PROJECTS
“LOST” PARODY LOGO
During the same project of creating a animated name logo, I quickly put together this logo, mocking the LOST title card. I’m amazed at the amount of requests people have sent my way asking how I made this.

“MOONWALKER” TV SHOW OPENING
After the death of Michael Jackson, I had the idea of making a mock opening for a television show as if his 90 minute “MOONWALKER” video was in fact a weekly series. Taking the cue from numerous television shows, I took an instrumental version of his SMOOTH CRIMINAL song, edited down to 49 seconds in length and cut together clips from the video, designed to look as if there were multiple adventures being had over countless weeks. While a little long for a TV Show opening, it came out exactly as I had imagined, which is rare for many things I do!
